The UAE will host the 2024 Asian Athletics Championships The UAE will host the Asian Under-20 Athletics Championships in its 21st edition, in 2024 in Dubai. His Excellency Major General Dr. Muhammad Al-Murr, President of the Asian Athletics Federation, received the championship flag from His Excellency Major General Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad, President of the Asian Athletics Federation, on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of the activities of the current edition of the championship, which was hosted by the South Korean city of Iachon from June 4 to 7. Al-Murr stressed that the prominent continental event, which the UAE is hosting for the first time, represents a qualitative leap in the plans and programs that aim to develop the capabilities of promising groups in athletics, and hone their talents through these powerful tournaments at the continental level, especially since it is witnessing large participation similar to the current version with the presence More than 1,000 male and female players from 40 Asian countries. He added that the UAE is strengthening its global leadership by maintaining its distinguished position on the international sports map by hosting the most prominent events in the world, in line with trends that support sports development in various fields. The President of the Athletics Federation noted that the Board of Directors will take steps to host the Asian Championship, with the best practices, to highlight the honorable face of the UAE, and provide an impressive level of organization and hosting, in addition to the importance of the event in supporting the priorities of the Federation’s programs by focusing on the age group under 20 years.
