The Asian U-20 Athletics Championships are preparing to start in Dubai

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Olympic Committee, the organizing committee of the “Asian Athletics Championships U-20” held a press conference in Dubai to announce the details of the tournament, whose competitions will be held during the period from 24 to 27 next April.
It is organized by the Emirates Athletics Federation in partnership with the Dubai Police General Command and the Dubai Sports Council under the umbrella of the General Sports Authority and the Asian Football Confederation. Its competition is held on the grounds of the Dubai Police Officers Club, with the participation of more than 1,200 male and female players from 40 countries.

The press conference was attended by His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, His Excellency Major General Dr. Mohammed Al Murr, President of the UAE Athletics Federation, Colonel Issa Hamza, Director of the Championship, and a number of representatives of the organizing bodies, and media professionals.

His Excellency Saeed Hareb said during the conference that the UAE in general, and Dubai in particular, supports various sports and is keen to host various tournaments in various sports, in support of the process of sports prosperity in the country, which was clearly reflected in the achievements and successes recorded by the country in all sports, stressing that the Dubai Sports Council He is proud to contribute to organizing this tournament, which is being held for the 21st edition, at the level of Asia.

Hareb extended his thanks and appreciation to the organizing bodies and their distinguished role, praising their efforts to support the sport of athletics, stressing that the support of these bodies is the best evidence of their great interest in supporting the sport of athletics in its various games.

For his part, His Excellency Major General Dr. Mohammed Al Murr confirmed that the tournament, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, will be hosted by the state for the first time at the Dubai Police Officers Club during the period from 24 to 27 April from 9 am to 9 pm, and will witness... More than 1,200 male and female players from 40 Asian countries participated, as the tournament aims to develop the capabilities of promising groups in athletics and hone their talents through these powerful tournaments at the continental level.

He added, "The UAE is strengthening its global leadership by maintaining its distinguished position on the international sports map by hosting the most prominent events in the world, in line with trends that support sports development in various fields."

Al-Murr indicated that the Board of Directors will take steps to host the Asian Championship, with the best practices, to highlight the honorable face of the country, and provide an impressive level of organization and hosting, in addition to the importance of the event in supporting the priorities of the Federation’s programs by focusing on the age group under 20 years.

Colonel Issa Hamza, tournament director, explained that the teams are ready to host the tournament in accordance with the best practices in organizing sports tournaments, pointing out that the Emirate of Dubai is always keen on excellence and leadership in hosting high-level sporting events, given that Dubai enjoys advanced infrastructure and world-class facilities, which makes it An ideal destination for organizing various sporting events.

He expressed his hope that the tournament would come out wonderfully in light of the great importance it has as it is one of the sports that is witnessing great demand among the age group under 20 years of different nationalities
